Muslim Society of Prince Edward Island was created in 1990 to serve the needs of the growing Muslim community in Prince Edward Island.
On July 14, 2012, Masjid Dar As-Salam, PEI’s first permanent mosque opens.

The goals (objectives) of the Society are outline in the constitution (by-laws) of the Society which are:
- Practice, protect and promote the principles of Islam;
- Procure and develop necessary resources;
- Maintain and operate the Islamic Centre – Masjid Dar as-salam;
- Promote a better understanding of Islamic culture and values based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, between Muslims and other religious and cultural groups on the Island.
The Mission of Muslim Society of Prince Edward Island (MSPEI) is to aggregate Muslims in the Island, produce and develop necessary resources to server them, endeavor be in service to Islanders and promote better understanding of Islam among the people of PEI.
