HISTORY
Muslim Society of Prince Edward Island was created in 1990 to serve the needs of the growing Muslim community in Prince Edward Island.
MISSION
The Mission of the Muslim Society of Prince Edward Island (MSPEI) is to aggregate Muslims in the Island, produce and develop necessary resources to server them, endeavor be in service to Islanders and promote better understanding of Islam among the people of PEI.
CONSTITUTION
The Constitution of the Muslim Society of Prince Edward Island aims to establish the basis upon which the society is established, joined, managed, affiliated to and affiliated with, and its long term aims and goals.
The last amendment passed at AGM 26 Nov 2022 has added more goals for the society.
The Constitution is currently under review to cope with the increasing demands of the society and the factors impacting the community upon which it operates.
OBJECTIVES
The goals (objectives) of the Society are outline in the constitution of the Society which are:
- Practice, protect and promote the principles of Islam;
- Procure and develop necessary resources;
- Maintain and operate the Islamic Centre – Masjid Dar as-salam;
- Promote a better understanding of Islamic culture and values based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, between Muslims and other religious and cultural groups on the Island.

MASJID DAR AS-SALAM
On July 14, 2012, Masjid Dar As-Salam, PEI’s first permanent mosque opens.
