In preparation for the upcoming Board of Directors and Board of Trustees election, the Executive Committee of the Muslim Community Association of Prince Edward Island has established an Election (Nomination) Committee in accordance with the Association’s Constitution and By-Laws.
Committee Chair: Brother Mohamed Eldeeb
Committee Member: Brother Omair Imtiaz
The Election Committee is responsible for managing the nomination process and ensuring that the election is conducted in a fair, transparent, and organized manner.
Responsibilities of the Election Committee include:
- Issuing the public call for nominations
- Receiving and verifying candidate nominations
- Confirming candidate eligibility according to the Constitution
- Publishing the final list of candidates
- Assisting in the preparation of the election process during the General Assembly Meeting

Nomination Timeline
Nomination Period Opens: April 1st, 2026
Nomination Submission Deadline: April 25th, 2026
(All nominations must be submitted in writing on the designated nomination form before this date.)
Candidate Confirmation, and Publication of Candidate List:
The final list of confirmed candidates will be shared with all members at least seven (7) days before the election.
(The election will take place during the Annual General Assembly Meeting.)
Important Notes
- Only members in good standing are eligible to nominate themselves or be nominated.
- Self-nominations must be submitted in writing on the designated nomination form.
- Nominations from the floor will not be accepted on election day.
- Nominations close 14 days prior to the election date to allow preparation of the General Assembly election package.
